FEEDBACK
- Nothing to say what it is to the public
- Confusing what it is
- Infographics could be improved
- The book should be the same size as the book casing
- Legibility of type
To prevent this from future projects I would either print out more prototypes or research scaling and sizing issues. I also think it was down to time constraints I spent a lot of time condensing my research which could have been an on-going process whilst I was researching.
Considering the feed back I received from my final crit I decided to make some design changes to my final publication digitally. I looked at 3 comments in particular and tried to overcome these problems.
Problem: "Nothing to say what it is to the public"

The original printed box, just displayed a remodeled version of the illuminati eye symbol. This would have made no indication of what the publication was about to consumers who had no background knowledge to the subject.

Re-Design |
Resolution: One of the first comments was that there was nothing to say
what it was on the outside. I added the title of the book to the front
flap of the book casing to make the purpose of the publication more
explicit to my target market. I used the same font used in the book
to keep consistency.
I also added a bar code to the back of my box, originally it was just on the inside of the publication, but to make it look more professional and legible to sell in stores such as waterstones it needed this.
Problem: "Legibility of type"

Original |
The legiblity of the type inside of the book was at 6pt due to the shape of the pages.

Experiment |
Resolution: First of all I just made the text bolder to see if it would stand out more, but the thick weight still made some words look illegible.

Final Re-design |
To overcome this I decided to experiment with the layout of the text increase the size. This overall made it look more professional and legible compared to the original.
Comment: "Confusing what it is"
My topic of choice is quite confusing in it's self so it's quite hard to identify if there is no background knowledge on the subject. Although I had a blurb of what the book was about it was inside the box so the public wouldn't know unless they interacted with the box or purchased it.

Experiment |
Resolution: I decided to experiment with putting the blurb in particular places to make it more explicit.
