For this brief I wanted to create a vinyl cover based upon the world fallen apart and themes of darkness. I chose to go down this route due to the lyrics in the Black Sabbath songs that talk about the world falling apart and can't be saved. From my research into the Hashima I decided I could create some handmade textures to replicate the ruins of the island.
Below are a collection of handmade textures I have made in my spare time and have been scanned into. I used black ink, acrylic paint, newspaper cuttings and bubble wrap to create a distressed feel.
With these texture I will experiment with them digitally in Photoshop, overlapping layers and experiencing with filters and effects.
