ASOS: INITIAL IDEA'S

To start the brief myself and my collaborative partner came up with a multitude of idea's for the project. Below are some of things we initially wanted to propose and produce.

Project Name

Althought the breif was already self titles ASOS we wanted to find a name to go alongside the brand to show the audience it's new a feature. I came up with a brainstorm of potential names, as did my partner.

After looking through one another's names we decided to go with the name 'ASOS Mode' we chose this name due to it's double meaning "a way or manner in which something occurs or is experienced, expressed, or done. / a fashion or style in clothes, art, literature, etc." and felt it represented what the brand was about and what we wanted to achieve.

Print Material

For the printed material, this was an added extension on what we could produce for the brief and wasn't a mandatory but thought due to working in a group this could be achieved. We researched into styles of printed paraphernalia we wanted to include and wrote a list of things that we could possibly create.
  • Promotional posters
  • Small magazine - double sided for men and women including a map for events.
  • Mail Shots
I think that by myself and collaborative partner considering beyond the brief was something that was important to consider to show the judges how well developed our idea's were and how it could be interacted with to an audience.

App Design

After myself a Rinesh established the features of the app that we wanted, we began to create mock up sketches of pages and feature we wanted to include.

In doing these sketches we focused on how the app would be interacted with, the aesthetics, button styles and features.

We decided upon creating an App that had encompassed all the exciting app features but with a added extra called "Asos Mode" which is a personalised shopping experience for the user in which the app is catered to their size, style, tastes and features they want to show or hide. In doing this it will save the user time in going through all the clothes asos has to offer and the app does all this for them.

We broke the app down into these main points

  • Home
  • Shopping
  • Trends
  • Events
  • Asos Mode
  • Help
With these sections broken down it will enable us to focus on specific design for each area and designs.
