COLOUR

After researching into colour pallets I really liked the pastel colours that I found in some of the pallets.

I decided to choose 2 sets of  5  bright colours to break up the festival tents.

and also  decided to choose a set of  5 pastel colours to see a variety of ways in which I could execute the colour of the design.

I then started to experiment with the colours to created a gradient overlay to use for promotional material. The gradient overlay would act as a pattern in the printed material and also in the photo's to give them depth. I was influence by this idea from the park life festival research I focused on where they used old camera film overlays to create a sense of summer and nostalgia which was something I wanted to also include.

I took the colours into Photoshop and put them into random big blocks covering the page. I then used the 'box blur' filter tool to create the gradient pattern and produced these outcomes below.

Experiment 1.

Experiment 2.

Experiment 3.

Out of all the experiments I found the last experiment to be most effective in regards the colour and how it would work across the images. I decied to use this gradient and colour pallet for the production of my design as I felt it had really warm and summer time tones which fits in with the ethos and setting of my festival.
