CONCEPT

For the concept of my festival I decided to break down all the areas in which I could portray the festival starting with what it was about and the proposed outcomes.

What is it?

X Festival is a music, arts and culture themed festival that offers a range of things to do, including 5 music tents with different genres of music, a trade and clothing centre where consumers can buy memorabilia from independent clothing companies and also the X festival merchandise store. The festival also hosts a range of entertainment activities from fairground rides, artistic performers such as dancers and live competitions. The most outstanding feature about the X festival is that is has an artificial beach where consumers can have their holiday in the festival. From my research A lot of people expressed that the main reason they would want to go to a Festival outside of Europe was due to the good weather and the opportunity to go onto the beach, so X festival bring that holiday feeling to England!

Who is it for?

X festival is aimed at people, mainly students between the ages of 18-28. The festival is catered to people who have a standard income, and can have the option of spending time at the festival depending on how much they can afford. The festival offers 3 types of tickets that range from;

:: Day pass which means they can spend one day at the festival costing £80

:: Standard camping weekend pass £150

:: VIP weekend camping pass. £250

I broke up the tickets to enable the audience to choose when or how long they can stay for and gives them the opportunity to still attend the festival. The pricing of my festival tickets was influenced by my research into other festivals and how they break up the calculations.

Where is it?

X Festival is based in the Town Moor park in Newcastle due to it's big open space that will allow the consumers to experience all that the festival has to offer. The festival is based in Newcastle due to a lot of current festivals are already based in a multitude of other major cities in the north such as Leeds and Manchester. From my research and primary research into festivals, the consumers preferred festivals in the north due to travel and expenses which helped shape the location for the festival. 

When is it?

X Festival takes place on the 20th of June, in the summer when people break up from their summer holidays and have a chance to look back at their achievements and enjoy all the activities and live artists the festival has to offer. The festival spans across 3 days (Friday to Sunday) with facilities to camp both in standard and VIP locations.
