INITIAL IDEAS

To start my development of idea's I created a series of brainstorms determined by the results of my research so I could clarify on where I could go with the concept. I broke these brainstorms down into categories to get an all rounded view of what I needed to do.

Audience Wants

Festival Traits

Festival Concepts

From my festival concepts I decided to go ahead with the idea X festival as it portrayed and 'X' amount of things to do for the target audience. I wanted to create a festival that catered to a wide variety of people enabling them to get the most out of the festival.

I decided to call it the X festival as is also replicates the mathematic symbol of multiplication which reinforces the festivals ethos of have a variety of things to do and enjoy.

X festival specialises in music, art and culture. I decided to break the festival up by having 5 stages that play a range of music of different genres from house, pop, indie, drum and bass, and new and upcoming artists.
This array of music will allow audiences choose different tents that they want to go to enjoy the festival and even go into different tents to find a new artist they like,

I decided to also split the tents up by using different colours to co-ordinate the tents in order for them to know where they had to go to see a particular artist and would work as a way finding technique.

With these idea's in mind I then started to develop my concepts further by looking into colour, typography and other branding aspects to make my festival come to life.
